Saw it with my son, it’s Paw Patrol, so nothing ground-breaking, but he enjoyed it and it was his first time seeing a movie in the movie theater, so that was special.

Now you got another moment to tell him in 20 years! 😁 ❤

I remember when I went with my father to the threate for the first, and I think only time, and he just took a nap five minutes in. Did the thing where I excitedly pointed at the screen only to find him slumbering away.

In retrospective he was an overworked working class man with no interest in a kids movie, so I kinda get it. But as a kid I was really cross with him doing that.

I don't actually even remember what my first movie was I saw in the theater. Maybe Transformers: The Movie (the cartoon movie)? I would've been about the same age, 5 years old, but that movie was just in a completely different league than Paw Patrol.

Same thing happened when my grandpa took me to go see Transformers: The Movie in the theater. It wasn't my first movie, but I think it was my first with him, and I was beyond excited for it. I was a little disappointed to look over and see him sleeping five minutes in, but I didn't really mind that much. I think even back then I was like, "Yeah, I understand."

I'm sure the movie was completely incoherent to him. Robot toys fighting a planet-sized robot toy... yeah, time for a nap.

I was JUST thinking about taking my son to see it for his first theater film. Guess that settles it

Maybe make it a double feature. "Saw Patrol" could be the next "Barbenheimer"

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

That's what the movie industry tried to push pretty quickly after the first Barbenheimer craze. I don't think it works in this case, though

I enjoyed The Creator for its visuals but the bad script makes it impossible to recommend it. Might do well as a brainless Star Wars surrogate in streaming, and it might turn into a cult classic down the line, but I'm not surprised it's bombing.

Dam, I was looking forward to it but will temper my expectations.

It looks really good, but the script is bafflingly bad. Add to that some bits of completely out-of-place humor, flat characters and a lot of very cliche plot points...

It looks like a remake of Alesium... I'm going with low expectations but hope to be surprised.

Yeah, it's paw patrol, of course it'll be huge.

The entire Franchise exists to sell shit to people with children... Like literally, thats what the creators had in mind when thinking of it.

Disappointed at how susceptible Americans are to copaganda.

US could need more movies with how police are supposed to act. From over here it seems like all US cops think they are action heroes up until bullets fly and they turn into undertrained cowards in overprized gear.

Only out of perverse curiosity, where are you from?
