When:

  • Mark as read on scroll
  • Hide read posts
  • Mark doubled posts as read

are activated the doubled posts aren't hidden when you scroll past them and reload the feed. If you manually mark them as read they do get hidden.

I like that they aren't hidden immediately so that I may read the comments. But they should be hidden after scrolling past them.

Just saw, when they're the first post in the list the double posts do get hidden.

This is actually the intended behavior of the feature. it sounds like what you want is "Hide duplicate posts" which is not a feature yet. I can add something to the backlog to investigate.

No, I don't want "hide duplicate posts", that way I might miss posts with more comments.

To me it looks like Summit is marking them as read only locally and when I scroll past it's not sending the read status to the server, probably because it thinks they already have that status.

Oh I see. Yeah I can change the behavior here.
