In what way was it disappointing? Sure, England only played well against the Netherlands and Wales, but still

The level of the games of the knockout stage was disappointing. There were a lot of technical mistakes. The penalty session of England-Sweden was embarrassing. At France-Germany, despite playing 11 vs 10, the French team was playing so bad.

The best games of this euro (SWE-GER or FRA-ENG) were not decisive. And more generally, the group stage felt too easy for the best teams

I enjoyed watching Swiss vs Finland and the final. But a lot of games were too uneven or too boring. Next time, I might watch 1 or 2 games at most

Fair points. Re: penalties, I found this quite interesting - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c86gxqy5pyzo

I think the disparity in team quality is probably down to the tournament being expanded, and most countries having underdeveloped women’s sides. The expansion is necessary to encourage that development but also shows it up.

"Of course there are exceptions, and in the WSL a lot of people watch some games. But Premier League players perform for 50,000 every week and to millions at home. That is new to these players.

Didn’t think of that. Interesting read, thanks
