The problem with getting Eze is like you lose your bike and then you found it but have to buy it back 🤣
I'd love to see an XI of players that we released at youth level but then became good enough that we could have signed them again!
This got me curious about constructing a starting XI based on former academy players who are still playing elsewhere today.
I used this TransferMarkt web page to find them, and then picked out the ones who either never made a senior appearance or only made a small number of them (which excluded the likes of Iwobi and Nketiah). There were plenty of decent attacking options. But not so many good defensive options. I excluded players like Obi-Martin and Heaven who are only now breaking into their club's first teams.
