Why do Americans vote for republicans? When I listen to what they have to say and who speaks, I cannot imagine anyone except the 5% who always like the dumbest stuff to actually vote for them.

Nothing that requires physical skill or reading. Anything requiring education? I cannot see him manage to do that either. Wouldn't want him in any position of responsibility of anyone I care about. Yet, that's the guy half the population likes? And would think it's a good idea to be in charge of it all? The town moron who can barely tie his shoes? It's so disturbing, that I've tuned out of American politics since 2016.

You should try talking to some of them. It angers me how dumb they are and how ignorant they want to stay. Then when you get angry they won't listen. But if you're too nice they won't listen either. It's infuriating

America is a failed state and if our right-wing extremists aren't given everything they want, they will prevent the government from being able to literally do anything. Because American laws state the government has to decide how to pay for things before it's allowed to function.
I was aware of the things you claim, I just didn't know there was a shutdown looming.
Everything the GOP does makes sense when you filter it through a "do our big domestic or foreign doners ?" lens.
And remember the biggest foreign doners would be folks like China, Putin, and the House of Saud, who wanna get paid and see the US Gov collapse.
We should stop giving public money to private businesses anyway. Hopefully the crisis will push people to enact state-provided childcare, like we already do for elementary and secondary schooling.
