Good. He’s running a short term rental in a municipality where it isn’t permitted. Saanich says apply for a Bed and Breakfast license, if that’s the service you provide. That’s all that’s allowed.

So, I have no idea about this situation directly, but i am aware of a few similair situations across the country where they change the laws after people own and are running these businesses turning them into illegal business at that point.

There needs to be some sort of national rules, because there are cases accross the country that are super unfair in both directions.

Some vacation communities are being made unaffordable and ruining the experiences, where as others can't rent the family cabin anymore for 2 weeks a year like they have always done to help pay the taxes etc.
