Does Manyfold support SVGs/etc? It seems awesome but it might be self-host only, not sure there are any public instances.
Whoaa public instance! That's AMAZING, will definitely be there! ❤
perfect! would absolutely be down to help test things and possibly contribute if i find the time :3
Grabcad?
Since it just a remix, can't you put original 3mf/stl file and add your version to the download section? If that's work, just add to 3d model file title "by xxx" To give credit to original designer so they are no confusion between your files and the original designer.
i could but that wouldnt work for original designs. considering just uploading a basic cube stl just to bypass the requirement...
Honestly I think this is a gap in the community.
They're more project focussed but you could consider https://hackster.io/ or https://hackaday.io/.
Maybe consider cross posting this question to an open hardware community? Such as [email protected]
(And ping me if you find one, I'm collecting open hardware websites)
I think thingiverse allows SVG or DXF files to be uploaded.
Makerworld? Bambu recently released their laser / 3D printer hybrid. Though I have no idea whether they require the files to be doable on their printer.
I'm pretty sure Bambu wants the files as sliced by Studio just like everything else there. They want the machine profiles for users to download and print. Right down to the color of the filaments for the FDM stuff.
No idea about the laser models, but you can definitely only include a STL, or even a SCAD file. For example this model of mine: https://makerworld.com/en/models/477773-configurable-task-list
@sixleaf what format are the files in? We’ll happily add support for it, and we’re about to launch a public federated instance you can use for hosting…
these files are SVG but DXF is also a common format. would love to help test things!
