Party of absolute sellouts. Dem party will never do the right thing and they are beyond cooked. We need real power on the left, not these clowns.

[-] JesusSon@lemmy.world 73 points 11 months ago

Same old, same old. The DNC lost the most important election and ended democracy. Had a chance to change but couldn't see past the pile of cash in front of 'em.

[-] Ledericas@lemm.ee 18 points 11 months ago

schumeer and hakim, plus 10+ other dinos in both houses: "best we can do is vote with the gop most of the time"

[-] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 64 points 11 months ago

This confirms to me that the Democrats always having enough people breaking rank to pass horrible Republican bills is a feature of the party and not a bug because they instantly toss the guy trying to fix it. There will NEVER be enough Democrats in elected positions to pass the bills they pretend to want to pass nor will there ever be enough to stop Republican rule, no matter how small a minority they are.

What is the most effective way to let the DNC know that I hate them?

[-] baronvonj@lemmy.world 46 points 11 months ago

Vote for progressives in your state and local Democratic primaries.

[-] DougHolland@lemmy.world 17 points 11 months ago

And I would add: Don't give squat to the Democratic Party.

There is nothing they won't interpret as evidence that they're not far enough to the right.

[-] ImADifferentBird@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 11 months ago

That. I can't believe that their takeaway from 2024 was that they didn't throw the left under the bus enough. Harris ran exactly the campaign that the DNC donors wanted, and we see the fucking results.

Support candidates they hate, like Zohran Mamdani, Kat Abughazaleh, AOC, etc. Start changing them from the ground up.

It's a long process, and we might not have time to pull it off at this point. But I don't see a better option short of straight up revolution.

[-] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 11 months ago

People are going to hate this, but if you keep voting for them at the end of the day, they have no reason to change. Simple as.

[-] NauticalNoodle@lemmy.ml 5 points 11 months ago

Voting third-party.

It’s almost like Dems don’t want to win.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 30 points 11 months ago

If it means moving to the left, they would rather have trump.

[-] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 11 points 11 months ago

We all fucking told you so.

[-] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 11 months ago

We told them so, we were called russian bots and trump supporters for saying "They want Trump to win, this is bad."

Gotta love being a Cassandra. Calling out that something bad will happen, people ignore you, bad thing happens, people now think you're just using hindsight.

[-] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 6 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Pretty much. I'm not gonna say that the Dem establishment wants Trump/The GOP to win, obviously they would prefer holding the power. But if it's a choice between progressives who will actually oppose their economic policies and the far-right, they'll pick the latter every. single. time.

[-] Ledericas@lemm.ee 9 points 11 months ago

many of the dinos couldnt hack it as a gop candidate , so they play the D games to get elected.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

and they have a party willing to welcome them as long as it means they get to move to the right.

[-] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 13 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

So both sides are the same after all.

The Duopoly ends when we dump both parties

[-] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 19 points 11 months ago

They're not the same. They do have the same bosses, though. So it stands to reason they're both moving us towards the same goals.

I don't agree with all this guy says, but I agreed that the Democratic party is fucking worthless. They are done. We need a new party to beat fascism or we need a new system. One where oligarchs cannot buy power.

[-] CircuitSpells@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

jfc. And here I was thinking that that audio clip of Ken Martin literally fucking crying at David Hogg would amount to anything. These people have the utmost contempt for their constituents, it is absolutely ridiculous. They would LITERALLY rather America succumb to a fascist takeover than begin to call out their own, or oppose their corporate donors. The average democratic voter has more balls and patriotism than these people. Words cannot describe how insanely livid this makes me, neolibs can suck my fucking balls.

[-] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Looks like someone got a job on the Three Letter campaign.
