My personal phone has never and will never connect to my work WiFi.
The cell signal at my office is so bad it barely loads anything, so I use work Wi-Fi. But I wireguard VPN all my traffic to my home network so I can make use of my pihole and get to my home server more easily.
You've heard of VPN right?
Doesn't matter, you're still trackable across APs. Yes, randomized MACs, I'll just correlate that with the MAC that showed up around the AP near the door when you clocked in and around the AP near your desk when you logged in. Good enough for the day.
Don't think there aren't employers that do this.
Bro I'm not sure what kind of classified shit you are looking at during working hours but most people just wanna check their socials. If your employer is tracking access points and digital clock in locations. Maybe just fucking do your job instead of dicking around on your phone in such a serious workplace.
You're looking at this wrong. Not every country has laws that allow the cancellation of work contracts without any reason at any time. Often you need a reason and tracking people walking about and spending time not at their desk or workbench delivers such a reason.
Well that seems self defeating. How do you browse the internet while you're dropping a deuce?
Cellular?
My cell service at the office sucks, plus I own the WiFi router since I wfh
I’m not sure your situation applies to this, congrats on the wfh
man, i wish my work had wifi. they dont, so i have to suffer with 1 bar of lte
I kinda get it if data plans are still expensive anywhere on Earth. Even in way behind Canada with our telecom mafia things have improved a lot in recent years.
Still never would and didn't. I read a lot books in the dark ages.
Kinda miss the bad old days when 1.5 €/MB was considered super cheap (about 5-10 €/MB was normal). It made you frugal. You tried to avoid going online, instead of scrolling all day long. I have very mixed feelings about that time.

Make sure the selfie cam stays off when scrolling xhamster.
Or not 😉
In deed.
I have excellent wifi in all toilets at work. As I do work from home it’d be my own fault if I didn’t.
May or may not have used a conference room getting poor signal as a reason to move an access point closer to my favorite quiet bathroom.
I like the cut of your ssid.
"Hey! Is it too much to ask during the goddamn workday for two separate sessions of 80 uninterrupted minutes each of quality dump time?"

Hello hemorrhoids.
At one job I worked, no one could get a usable wifi signal. I snuck into the server room and found the networking guy had put the wifi access point inside a Faraday cage with the servers. So I took it out. The wifi worked after that.
