lmao "I'm not transphobic, I know a trans person on the internet who caters to my specific interests"

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

He's definitely referring to porn

[–] [email protected] 53 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i was so nervous that I wouldn't get approved when i made my account because my lexicon of marxist and leftist terminology is limited and I am bad at advocating for myself. :(

[–] [email protected] 53 points 1 year ago (1 children)

we're very lenient on approving accounts exactly so that we can get newbies, you almost have to put effort to be denied.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

did everyone have to do this? i don't even remember applying to join

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago

I also didn't need applying to join. (I joined roughly a year and a half ago when the GZD sub was promoting it)

IIRC the approval requirements were implemented because of the mass brigades that happened here some time ago.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

Everyone has to do this now. I had to apply.

but I also value freedom of speech

What the fuck does that even tangentially have to do with wealth inequality outside of "money is speech" capitalist realism?

I am not interested in preaching to the choir

phoenix-objection-1 phoenix-objection-2 objection

Whenever some smuglord says shit like that it is because they're craving validation the way a Redditor says "I am going to get downvoted for this, but" then showers in le Reddit Gold.

put gender ethics along political lines

I'm lost. What the fuck does that mean? This some tepid-ass "take politics out of my politics" liberal bubble world shit or what?

I watch The Jimquisition religiously.

You really can't make this up

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why do people think consuming things makes them a member of a political group of any kind? Your trump hat does not make you a conservative. So many people really do treat themselves like an action figure.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 year ago

because they are consumers first

[–] [email protected] 45 points 1 year ago (1 children)

if it puts your minds at ease I myself am bisexual and watch the Jimquisition religiously

This needs to be a site tagline on hexbear

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

this is one of the only good taglines I've seen and looking this up was a delight

[–] [email protected] 44 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Who do they think is going to share wealth voluntarily in this cutthroat capitalist society? How would they propose to accomplish this?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago

How would they propose to accomplish this?

[REDACTED] of course!

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago

How would they propose to accomplish this?

That's the neat part. They wouldn't. think-mark

[–] [email protected] 41 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don’t know if you’ve watched Kung pow, but there’s this guy who gets beat up on purpose and thinks he’s winning, and it turns out that he was trained wrong as a joke.

I’m getting the same feeling here.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

His nipples looked like Milk Duds.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 year ago

Can we just let all the fashies in here so we can all just get along and have tea and scones together puh-leaaaaaaaase??????

[–] [email protected] 37 points 1 year ago (1 children)

perhaps we have something to learn from them

no, actually. we don't. Thats the point?

[–] [email protected] 34 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Socialists learning from right wingers: "Okay, you were involved in the V2 program on a technical or academic level but did not join the Nazi Party. Put together a few V2s for us to test and we'll treat you well and send you home to Germany afterwards. We probably won't even use the design in the end, we just need to test it."

Liberals learning from right wingers: "SS Sturmbanfuhrer von Braun, even though you presided over slave labor during the war, how would you like a high ranking job at NASA? We'll set you up really nice like your Nazi general friend who's leading NATO and the Japanese biowarfare war criminals."

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Okay, you were involved in the V2 program on a technical or academic level but did not join the Nazi Party. Put together a few V2s for us to test and we'll treat you well and send you home to Germany afterwards

should have been in a box tbh

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I support the V2 because it was:

  1. Completely ineffective
  2. A waste of critical resources
  3. Mostly used to piss off the English
[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 year ago

This can't be a real submission. It's too well crafted

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A small part of me wants to submit an account request that's just Wisconcom's thermonuclear rant

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

With federation though, you don’t even need to submit an account request… I’m surprised Wisconcom hasn’t been making accounts on Lemmy.world and using them to post here.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Letting right wingers in leads to them taking over, not "learning anything". This has played out a billion times, and I am trying to avoid talking to people who are going to irritate me straight out the gate

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago

I've come to accept that blocking right wingers is self defense. I get enough liberalism irl and see no reason to torture myself with it here. If I wanted to learn anything from right wingers I could go on Twitter or take a snorkel for a swim in a festival septic tank.

Tapping on that picture makes Jerboa crash 😭

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago

Noticing a fair amount of pictures making other clients crash as well lately.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

defense mechanism

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

i thought it was just me

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Judging by the way they write this person sounds very young, and i don't like making fun of children, even if they're being bratty. It's low hanging fruit. Too easy.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 year ago

As the Hexbear crossposters pointed out, this could be a good radicalization opportunity.

@[email protected], is it possible to respond to an account request? If so, did you suggest to them any Marxist reading?

At the same time, it does feel a bit strange to try to make an account on a Marxist-Leninist instance and say you “care very little about Marxism”. Couldn’t you at least ask to learn more?

FNAF is something that I've always thought is enjoyed by 9 year olds. I didn't realise that the series has existed for almost a decade now. The kids who grew up with FNAF are now in their late teens and early adulthood.

And they want to join Lemmygrad.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm afraid to Google that in public, what is it?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Five Nights At Freddy's.

It's a children's horror game series that became popular because it has a lot of jumpscares and makes for ideal content for streamers. It spawned dozens of spin off games and a movie is coming out soon I think.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

ohhh yeah i remember that game.. not sure why it was such a sensation, maybe i was already too old when it came out, but thanks for explaining

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I got into FnaF in 2015, FnaF today is for kids since sequels after SL ruined the series, but try FnaF 1-SL and VR, it's not for kids.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I just didn't realise that the "first generation" of FNAF fans would be adults now. I guess I know how people feel about my generation when the first wave of pokemon fans became adults.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why is the username redacted?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago

I'd imagine it's just out of courtesy, I don't see any good reason to publish their username when it wasn't already public

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

I'm here specifically for all the commies and the lack of liberals and fascists. They've already made the whole of the Internet boring and reactionary. I need a safe space lol
