Are you there, weed heads? It's me, Bizzle.

I'm a medical patient on account of my leg, so I'm pretty much always smoking. But my tolerance is high as fuck! I need to smoke all day or it hurts super bad. What can I do to help manage my tolerance? I'm smoking like 8 joints a day.

If you use flower, look at getting a vaporizer because they're much more efficient than combustion. You use a lot less flower and get just as baked. Also you can use the AVB (already vaped bud) to make cannabutter after you've vaped it. So you'll get a lot more out of your stash.

You might also look at edibles. I notice that different ways of consuming weed hit different. So while I have a massive tolerance with flower, edibles still take me to space.

Lastly, you might look at getting a dab rig if nothing else works. Guaranteed to get you zooted.

Gonna take this opportunity to spread the word about this Lemmy server for vaporizer aficionados.

They're still small but the admin has a pretty solid setup so it's definitely a fast server with room for growth. Just figured a lot of people don't even know it exists yet.

Try using some cbd with it or buy some type 2 (mixed ratio, 1:1 CBD and THC). It will help with inflammation and some with pain without increasing your thc tolerance

As others have said, have you tried a vaporizer or edibles? It may simply be that combustion isn't the ideal method of extraction for your physical needs.

Some people find that combustion actually burns off some of the active compounds that are beneficial for pain relief. I suggest finding a device that can cook to around 430F as opposed to some devices that top out at 410F. Pain relief and sedation are extracted at these higher cooking temps which is more beneficial for your needs.

Also consider the strain/supplier. Not all herb is created equal. I attended a trade show in the industry in Vegas a few years back and the dispensaries were handing out discounts and freebies to show attendees. One of the shops gave me two free $10 pre-rolls which I thought was awesome..... until I tried to cook them in my dry vaporizer only to get zero vapor! It turns out this shady dispensary was literally taking shake leftover after extracting concentrates and then selling as "pre-rolls" for $10 to unsuspecting novice users. Maybe you simply need to find a better strain for your physical needs.

This was from a Reddit answer

The first few days are the worst part. I typed this up earlier for someone else, may be helpful for you too

CBD is very helpful and doesn’t affect the neurotransmitters the same way as delta 9

One method is to taper off thc d9 using a good flower vape, not cartridge vape, for a couple days of just good d9 flower.. Then mix d9 flower with some good CBD flower 1:1 mix, vape that for a couple days then 1:3 d9:cbd mix flower vaped for day or so. Then only cbd flower vaped. You could be very uncomfortable at times, but tell yourself * it’s mostly in your head and part of the process. Stay very hydrated. Take NAC supplement on rise and before bed on an empty stomach. During the day, exhaust yourself for a couple hours with workouts or other physical activity. At night Benadryl is great for sleep. After 72hrs of no d9 and only cbd you will feel much better

Search cbd on this sub and you can see many people use it to help with withdraws from thc

Good luck!

** I used to get bad physical symptoms from withdrawal during much needed tbreaks bc I would try cold turkey. Night sweats, anxiety, dissociation, no appetite, couldn’t sleep for shit. The more often I did tbreaks, the more I knew what to expect and came up with the above process that really helps. This is why I think, at least for myself, it’s mostly in your head because you are uncomfortable adjusting to the lack of dopamine and serotonin. NAC, working out and tapering down with CBD has been a game changer for me

Agree with using a vape, combustion is whack yo.

Also maybe check out concentrates as another suggested. You can press the flower yourself or buy it online.
