Assuming this is a good faith question, and not an ad campaign in disguise. Also I'm answering while assuming that the "this" in your question is referring to the still image posted here. (I didn't watch the video; no interest in a corporate game trailer, though the answer is likely the same for any animation as well.)

Yes, you could make this entirely in Blender if you wanted to. Blender can be used to create just about any kind of scene.

No, by no means it's any ad campaign. I'm basically studying animations of every kind, to fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ me up with ideas and inspirations. Honestly l wish to grow myself into an animation movie maker and give Hollywood a run for its money.

My purposes are entirely different though. I wish to work for environmental conservation through the animation videos that l make.

Sweet! Sounds like you've got some lofty goals, which can be very motivating. You won't go wrong learning Blender for that purpose, that's for certain. Good luck with it, it's been a fun journey for me so far!

A still image is much like a painting, which is 2D. I'm interested in 3D.

It's still 3D though, even if it's a single image. It's referring to the method used to create the image. Even a 3D animated video is at it's essence a slideshow of individually rendered images.
