Most papers are bad enough as is, but sure let's sprinkle some heavy metal flakes on them.

What kind would you recommend, my good friend? I've been thinking on purchasing those clear cellulose ones, since I loved it when someone gave me one as a gift.

I use plain "organic" hemp wrappers myself.

Typically you don't want something that was bleached or treated with chemicals like most of what you'll find at a gas station. Most people prefer rice paper or hemp paper (makes sense to just add the plant back in).

The 3 big brands you'll see that is recommend are raw, element, or juicy. They're all owned by Josh Kesselman so they're all made with the same considerations. Look him up, this guy loves joints. Raw is more specific if you want a rolling style or specific lengths or just want hemp papers. Element is rice paper which is very clean burning. Juicy is if you want some kind of flavoring like berry or peppermint with your joints.

Wow, thank you for your comprehensive reply. I've used raw, because the brand recognition, but didn't know much about this topic. I've also used those big ass blunt wraps one time or two. Forgot the brand, but they were ok, I guess (not much of a blunt dude). On the other hand, when I have the prep time (specially on weekends) I choose the bong or those awesome top puffs. But it's awesome to have a joint handy, I've been using reusable glass filter tips for some time.

I use elementrolling papers. They are rice paper and I have found them smoother than the alternatives

Probably best to just not post dangerous smokables.

I find this article about them from a decade ago: https://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/gold-rolling-papers-attract-smokers-money-burn/story?id=20389167

Even the manufacturers don't entirely know if there's negative effect of inhaling gold - they only cite one study in that article from 2011 and it seems there's otherwise next to no safety research done on it (not really surprising given I'm not sure there's a long history of people smoking gold). According to the company the gold stays on the ash 🤷🏻‍♀️
