It has good texture that resembles meat. Is it actually lab grown meat? Is it mushrooms? Is it some kind of vegetable gelatine glued mushroom vegetable mix? It's by far the closets thing yo meat. I love mushrooms though, its my new vegan growth stepping stone.

I looked at the back on DDG images and it says Textured Soy Protein. Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) is a very common meat substitute.

Wow. Would it be something I could do at home with a blender and a mixer or rolling pin?

For TvP or soy curls, you just rehydrate them in a broth. No tools required.

These are one of our favorites. Had them with broccoli and bok choy the other night. The not-beef is “TEXTURED SOY PROTEIN (SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE, RICE FLOUR, WHEAT GLUTEN, COCOA POWDER)”. Sorry, no mushrooms, but it compliments mushrooms very well. I’ve prepared it with button and oyster mushrooms. I imagine shiitake would also work well.

Their supplier is Nasoya, so if you see Nasoya Korean BBQ strips on sale, buy it because it’s the same product.

Very cool! Thanks for the tips!

I don't eat a lot of mushrooms anymore since they're so much more expensive than bean derived products especially soy and chickpea based products are winners when it comes to nutritional value for your bucks.

Also, I don't think lab grown meat is affordable (or even legal). Last time I heard the price of a 50g 'steak' was still like 10k.

There is 3d printed 'meat' now, which is still plant proteins but then created different.

Are these answers to your questions? Nope.

Wow you're just like AI LOL! I actually pressure cook beans with mushrooms. The result is fantastic.

I don't have a pressure cooker, but I do love the taste of mushrooms - don't get me wrong!
