I remember seeing your comment about this storyline being considered “too bourgeois", but it really comes across as skewering wealth and private property. Wonder if some people just missed the message.

That's likely. Also Snorkmaiden and Pappa going quite native might've confused the message.

I can imagine Pappas comment of "this is how I've always wanted to live" when the Moomins enter the hotel rubbing some people the wrong way.
