    Unfathomably based. Not to take anything away from Finland here, but there's a tracker where you can see what each country has contributed.     Ah, sweet. I believe Finland joined Nazis after the winter war. Fascinatingly enough, during the winter war, the country that was on the side of Nazis was ... Soviet Union!

    I'm still fascinated that soviets managed to play a victim card in a war that they started themselves.

    I mean, it had non-aggression pact right in the name. They did cooperate in splitting up Poland, but given the history, rhetoric and eventual actions of both sides you'd be hard pressed to seriously argue they were of a side.

    Yes, it was in the title, but what really mattered was the "you take this part, I take the other".

    While both were planning to attack the other when the moment is right. Nazis were better at planning. What a surprise.

    You know that was a disaster for them, right? The Soviets had their own clusterfucks going on, but they won and it wasn't close.

    Is this a national pride thing for you? Why even go there otherwise?

    Yup this, nazis were fighting soviets so basically in the eyes of the finns, they were liberated, same with the majority of the baltics. Soviets were a much bigger problem for eastern europe than nazis. But nazis ended up being just as bad.

    Speaking as a baltic guy, for us the best rulers were swedes. We have been ruled by swedes, danes, russians, germans and poles. And we only have one saying here “good old swedish times”.

    I am not discussing Finland specifically, but this point needs to be raised. How was the USSR any better than the Nazis?

    They Soviets organized the Holodomor, mass starvation of million of Ukrainians.

    I believe Stalin killed more soviet civilians than the Nazis.

    The Soviet Union (especially pre-Khrushev) was an atrocious entity. This includes both Stalin, Lenin and the people who ruled in between. They are monsters.

    The Soviets even collaborated with Nazis in the first two years of WW2.

    The double-genocide "theory" is commonly pushed by right wing eastern European governments to cover up their own crimes of collaborating and participating in the German occupation and the Holocaust.

    No, you're just trying to deny the Holodomor and mass killings by Stalin. Stalin was no better than Hitler, perhaps even worse.

    Believe it or not, you can condemn killing of Jews (and Poles), while also recognizing that the USSR was a brutal, genocidal shithole. And it's not solely Stalin, Lenin and his thugs were just as bad.

    No one is buying your white-washing of the Soviet created genocide of Ukrainians.
