We have seen an inordinate amount of hate recently to 'non acceptable' neurodivergences here and other places on lemmy and would really like it if it be explicitly in the rules here that that isn't acceptable.

We are tired of seeing people target those with 'cluster b' personality 'disorders' and even those of us who are plural.

So making the rules explicit that that kind of ill informed hate (or just hate in general) to specific neurodivergences isn't acceptable would go a long way to quelling this absolutely disgusting and unacceptable wave of armchair psychologists, conspiracy theorists and other undesirables.

Thanks for reading.

This is covered under our only rule. Being explicit about any single bad behavior implies that we need to explicitly call out every possible not nice behavior and that is against the spirit of Beehaw. See the spirit of the rules and other documentation for more information on how we moderate. Keep reporting and we will keep removing.

Okidoke, thanks!

Agree, and a slight tangent, but I feel like it's a closely related set of poor behaviours.

It's exhausting to go into spaces that are supposed to be centered around support and uplifting the community, and be faced with people tearing down other people "because they have [mental illness I diagnosed myself]."

Why speculate? An asshole is an asshole. Deal with what is actually there, don't demonize some random community and pretend what that person does is somehow related to it.

People repeatedly pretending some random disorder is "the reason" that person was mean to them, perpetuates stigma that leads to straight up just hurting people... people who are just struggling to survive with a nontypical brainset in a world that hates divergence, people who did nothing wrong to anyone.

Yup, we completely agree! It's disgusting and unhelpful.
