the war left an indelible mark on the American psyche that is still festering today

I've seen some of these docs in the "Turning Point" series and it's not impressive. This seems like another boiler-plate History Channel doc where we gaze longingly at our reflection in the Vietnam war and bravely ask: what does this say about me?
