Just deleted my Reddit account after 4 years due to being wrongly banned for ban evasion and having all my appeals either rejected or ignored. Hope Lemmy's a better place

Sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor prescribed. Remember that unlike reddit where the algo shoves content down your throat, here you kind of have to build it brick by brick.

i am in the same boat, also got banned without apparent reason, think i commented too quick.. have heard nothing back from my appeals so i will soon also delete my Reddit, viva the free fediverse

I'm mystified at how people get banned on reddit because I tried to get banned but failed; I assumed that I lacked the discipline to stay away so I thought I needed to be banned, but it turns out Lemmy is MUCH better for me so my account will just languish until they delete it eventually.
