Easter party 2 doors down w/ heaps of kids.

Neighbour has 2 dogs going off at the noise. I start digging out a tree on the boundary and one of the doggos starts going off at me.

You're not going to win a war w/ 2 fronts doggo. Learn your history.

Feels like Iโ€™m being buried by life crap -_-

The phosphate supplement needed to be ordered in and then the 4 day public holiday hit so I canโ€™t get it until Tuesday. I feel like shit. I should be resting but I need to sort the things that piled up while unwell.

Scrubbed the bathroom sink out and wiped the mirror so at least theyโ€™re clean now. Next I keep working on Mt Washmore, do the dishes in the sink.

And then keep trying to chip away at the digital clutter. I havenโ€™t been able to deal with it before now due to constant survival mode.

Next week I have to try and get more antibiotics or somehow get an emergency appointment.

I knew it, this rain was a total lie - all I ended up with was a car with dried dusty splotches all over! I'm not confident it'll rain much tomorrow either... it's so dry out there.

It took so much effort but I've done my most important duties today: cleaned manky kitchen and bathroom, vacuumed disgusting gross carpet, washed and dried some seriously dirty sheets and clothes, put new sheets on, and gave my own oily unwashed hair a good clean. 1.5hr chat with depressed cousin (both of us significantly more cheerful after talking), and a decent dinner later, I'm certainly feeling gruntled.

This will sound awful but I think I'm just going to frigging go into the office tomorrow and work (and count it as hours for later in the week), because I'm just not in the mood for a 4 day long weekend when I have a LOT to do before Thursday and will be pretty much unavailable for 7 working days after during which time several deadlines will come up.

I'd rather clear my plate early, and also do it on a day when I will have zero distractions (but good coffee, ergonomics and lighting).

I get the work thing. I'll probably be doing a few hours tomorrow to ease the load that's coming up.

Yeah, it won't be a full day, just enough to make sure the following days aren't a total clusterfuck. Thinking about it makes me a tad anxious now so best to get ahead of it...

Iโ€™ve ordered a washable electric blanket. Iโ€™m going to try and clean the existing one but having something youโ€™re only able to spot clean is a bit grotty to me.

I always had mine under the mattress protector

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I took the protector off to wash it and while it was drying something else happened

Iโ€™ve sorted out the gross sinks, used drain cleaner, and rinsed inside the end of the hose outlet. But due to having standing water the dishwasher pipe still smells.

Iโ€™m going to have to scrub that out properly at some point because when I have the ability to deal with it all I intend to sell the dishwasher.

Dirty bench is next.

I'm thinking I need a garden cart for carrying my stuff around. Something like this

I haven't seen anything like that for sale here, so I think I'll have to make my own. I'm thinking of getting one of the mesh side garden carts and using the framing from one of the cheap metal hammer together shelving units to provide a support. Lots of holes for attaching things to and (if the sizing works out) fairly simple.

Edit: found another option, this rack should fit inside the cart, with the cart being a bit wider so there would be room to put shovels and things along the edge.

All these shopping plans, I need to work out the budget before things get completely out of control!

I have something like the green cart in the pic for my garden. Shovels & rakes and implements of destruction go horizontally/longitudinally resting inside 2 x 15 cm sections of plastic sewer piping fastened to the bottom of the long edge at each of the corners and I just insert the handles in the tubes. Holds 3 implements easily as most of mine are long handle type and don't have a big plastic 'handle'. Works well as long as you remember to keep the cart oriented properly when going down steep slopes so they don't slide right out. An el cheapo hook-on bike basket on the back section holds secateurs, gloves & packets of stuff, and is easy to remove for storage. Inside is completely clear for better fitting bags/tubs for prunings, autumn leaves and lawn clippings etc. Easier to lift them out too as I find tubs easier to manage than bags if I'm going to empty them into the compost. I do harvest autumn leaves from street trees for mulch and compost, and this set up is very effective for that. The rack imo is overkill and not really needed. But you do you.

I'm thinking more of all the power tools and bits as well - as well as the tools themselves there will be lots of stuff like spare batteries, replacement lines and blades, oil. Prunings and things I'll probably use my current garden cart for - maybe I can hook it up behind this one and have a road train!

Hmm, I'd still look into bike baskets rather than a rack. Wouldn't things slide off the shelves???? Just wondering ...

There's free roaming shopping carts all around my suburb... Just saying, they're well built and easy to repurpose.
