I don‘t get why posts on lemmy about what got posted on reddit are needed.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

I like these kinds of posts as I want to see people talking about the fediverse.

To me it is like spam. I came here to get away from reddit not to use it as a proxy for reddit.

Blaze is basically a human repost bot. It's frustrating that a single individual with so many alts dominates the content on Lemmy.

I want to see Lemmy full of content and positive engagement but there also needs diversity in the people creating or curating that content.

Honestly, this is what blocking is for. Sure, it's useful for toxic or obnoxious people, but it's also useful for people who make a mess of your feed consistently.

I don't feel the need to block it entirely, what I'd prefer is a mechanism to demote their content so it ranks lower in the algorithm.

Similar to how Kagi search let's you re-prioritise different sites.

Voyager is actually American but let’s keep that between you and I.

[-] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago

I think its more about getting people to use Lemmy in that case

As in the main developer is from the US?

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

Yes as it shows on their GitHub page.

Maybe someone in EU could adopt me…

I’m sure some Irish farmers would love to have you!

Would I be better off with a European Lemmy app for android? Just asking for a friend of course, he really likes the Voyager app.

It doesn't matter where a FOSS app is from

•Raccoon is Italian🇮🇹

•Photon is Finnish 🇫🇮

•Boost is British 🇬🇧

•Sync is Spanish 🇪🇸

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Sync is Spanish? Huh, I always assumed British or american based on the devs handle

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Unfortunately Photon is also American

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Thank you for the transparency!

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

I think the owner of Sync is British? That said, the app is pretty much abandoned at this point so it's best not to advertise it.

Left a review on all those apps cause of the post reminding me. Both on Play Store and Aptoide (when available)

It's time to compose my own personal list of apps to review. French Ice Cubes you're next 🇫🇷
