Why can't we buy this style of non-permanent pet door in Australia?

When this under 16 ban comes in Iâm going to lose all the collected art resources I carefully organised and all my YouTube playlistsâŠ
VPNs get you banned or shadowbanned but kids under 16 wonât care. They could just keep churning through a bunch of new accounts, the disposability encouraging them to do whatever they want.
But for me when Iâm unwell and canât do much else I spend a lot of time collecting and organising reference photos, art tutorials, and posts with links to free art books. Thereâs a few years worth that will be near impossible to back up.
And I donât know what sites will be affected which makes it hard to even try to start migrating.
spoiler
(âDownload accountâ options never seem to work - I always end up having to go back and do it manually.)
Even if I buy a dedicated external drive then screenshot and paste links it will be hard to preserve sources or keep images and related information together. Itâs a mammoth task to do manually and the old fashioned way. Archiving is literally a job. And you canât go back to look at them without a login.
For the YouTube playlists maybe I can screenshot to be able to find some difficult to search stuff later, or paste the titles into a mega document, but oh man. Not a good solution.
It will also cut me off from a lot of other artists.
This crap isnât going to do anything but punish disabled people who spend a lot of time online and people who care about privacy.
But thatâs the Australian governmentâs way. Make grand promises (usually involving âprotecting the childrenâ) and then do something that doesnât work - and has unintended consequences.
I have much more to say about that but Iâm tired -_-
have you tried proton or Tor? They give privacy.
I could but at the moment it might be a bit of a steep learning curve for me. And if it gets picked up as changing where my traffic comes from Iâll probably be banned (so instead of inaccessible everything would just be gone)
Thinking.
There are so many people I have a lot in common with and could get along with really well - if they would treat me with respect.
Theyâre always so shocked and angry when you set a boundary or leave, too. Like⊠you expect me to just take that?
