Someone tell them that communists don't want to abolish "property", they specifically want to abolish private property. You can still have stuff that is yours under communism, but you cannot own stuff that is not being used by you, and is instead used to generate static revenue.
Example you can give: You can own a shovel if you need it to dig, but you cannot own shovels which you then loan out to employees to dig for you.
