I guarantee you he and Musk will have to dramatically beef up the number of bodyguards protecting them 24/7 when more than a handful of stories of poor people not getting their Social Security checks hit the news.
People will reach for the pitchfork when they can't pay rent because of DOGE.
100% certain.
And I for one can't wait for it to happen and for this entire experiment in utter stupidity to be cut short before the world dives into depression and WW3.
Iirc the project 25 plans this is actually the plan, those pitchforks will be used as justification to call in the army and deputise the various national guards (hazy memory, i actually have no clue how the varios American militaries work) But the fact that US police was buying surplus military equipment might be quite interesting now
This is what I don't understand about Americans.
You literally have a large percentage of your population who carry guns and prepare for civil war because you don't trust your government or police. Yet here we are, with every sign an indication that exactly what these people have prepared for is actually happening and... where are they?
We're seeing lots of peaceful protests, but where are the nutters?
There are two reasons:
- Gun owners talk tough but it's all talk and not much walk
- A lot of them are MAGA, and true MAGA loves fascism, so they have no reason to rebel against what they love
The problem is that the nutjobs fully trust the misinformation and right-wing propaganda.
Some lunatic will probably try to shoot him.

Alienate enough people to get a democratic majority in the house and Senate?
Is that really enough? Not an expert on USA law, but isn't he protecting himself from legal consequences by pardoning himself? A leftist (super-)majority should be enough, though.
