For one beautiful moment when I looked at the time this morning I thought I had caught up on some sleep.

In this day in age I don't know why we still do this. Like just keep it one way or the other ๐Ÿคฃ

I like it - lovely long summer evenings, now that it's plenty light enough in the morning.

That's fair. Just seems like the more revolutions around the sun I make the longer it takes me to adjust ๐Ÿ˜…

Isn't it the opposite? Sun is rising late, so less likely to be woken up by sun (if that's the joke).

Not quite - you're trying to move your sleeping and waking schedules 1 hour earlier.

It's a rough one unless you're already an early riser.

When the clocks go back, however, you're moving things 1 hour later, which is a lot easier!

But there will be sunlight, takes us a while to adjust.

Wait North American and UK doesnt (edit: fixed gammar) even do DST at the same time? I thought that was half the point of it,so 'everyone' stays the same as always. I swear I've heard about ditching DST for years here in BC Canada but still had that week from hell earlier this month.

I guess there's an argument that UK and North America are far enough off that it doesn't matter, but I just hate time change. Actually I hate most change but this seems worse cause it's government mandated twice a year. When I was partying it was fun to have an extra hour once per year but I'm old now.

George W changed that in the early 2000's here in the US.
