i’m old enough to remember that the buffy tv show is a reboot of the classic 90s movie 👍

(i’m in the minority and managed to miss out on Buffy the show - it was a period i didn’t have TV)
There are a couple of references to the movie, but they're pretty minor. They basically reference her getting expelled from her old school for burning down the gym, iirc.
I swear Buffy visits the grave of Merrick in the first episode.
