I'm about to start carrying US flag stickers for that kind of bullshit

[–] [email protected] 42 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Make sure your stickers are made in China!

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Home drawn with the stars replaced with little swastikas

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

Oh that's good

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Lol, jokes on you, they're ALL made in China!

You can print custom stickers in every Canadian settlement bigger than a small town.

I thought that the liquor monopoly in Canada are pulling American product? Jack Daniel’s is unmistakably a US brand.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Just fyi, there isnt just one liquor monopoly. Not sure about other provinces, but BC has BC Liquor and Quebec has SAQ. I guess LCBO is Ontario's.

Ontario has he LCBO which is government owned and The Beer Store which is privately owned by Molsom-Coors, Labatt and Sleemans. There’s also some grocery stores that can sell some kinds of alcohol, but I think the rule is is that they need to be a certain distance away from an LCBO or Beer Store. This is mostly for rural areas I think?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

There are no location requirements for selling alcohol as a grocery store, you have to have a certain percentage of your store selling groceries though. And those grocery stores have to buy through the LCBO.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

Over the last few months nearly every gas station or corner store also carries alcohol in Ontario. Doug Ford spent millions of dollars to rush shelving the products so he could undermine the efforts of the LCBO workers strike. He also rushed along an app so you can find booze near you.

Yeah alright, wasn’t sure about that bit. In Nova Scotia, grocery stores and convenience stores can sell booze now, but they have to be a certain distance away from an NSLC, so we have some stores dotted around now selling booze. It’s been a while since I lived in Ontario and I left before the grocery store thing. Point being though, there’s ye olde Beer Store to go along with the LCBO and now there’s the other stores too. Did they ever get buck a beer though? I recall that being a very Important Issue when I left Ontario.

To add on to this chain, in Quebec you get cheap beer at the mom and pop depanneurs, and good wine at the SAQ. And you don't want to confuse the later with the SAAQ or the SQDC.

Tons of dépanneurs also sell craft beers though!

This picture is from a week ago.

It is an US brand, but it could be like Heinz ketchup, that although being an American brand, it’s entirely made in Canada with Canadian tomatoes.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Didn't we all start buying french's when Heinz closed their Canadian facilities a few years ago? Thought that was a thing but didn't follow it that closely. My wife and mother in law have both insisted on buying french's since then.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

Heinz ended up making them in Canada again after the backlash. You do have to check the bottles though, as I think some are still sourced from the US.

French's is owned by McCormick now but their ketchup is still made in Canada from Canadian tomatoes. Their mustard is made in the US.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

Heinz makes the ketchup in Canada, but doesn't use Canadian tomatoes. French's uses Canadian tomatoes.

Wiser’s is the tits anyway

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

Inclined to agree, but we always remember our first drunk.

Now remembering the ones after, however

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

I am a Canadian Club man myself but Wisers is also tasty

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

I will try it, but I need to empty a bottle before I can buy a bottle.

It’s a sacrifice in willing to make.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Wiser's is great in Manhattan.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I bought a bottle of this at the distillery in Tennessee. Awful stuff.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

well it's a jack daniels

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

A businessman lying to possibly sell more product? If this continues to happen then the whole system will be broken after a while! /s

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 weeks ago

LCBO is Liquor Control Board of Ontario.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago
