The essays these people write are absolutely tedious. But every time I read one it does change my perspective.

The conclusion ultimately seems to be:

  • We should give rust a go because its memory safety and other features will make life simpler
  • However the codebase is vast so change isn't easy
  • We should contain the Rust experiment as much as possible so it doesn't overcomplicate multiple areas
