Summary

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced retaliatory tariffs after the U.S. imposed a 25% tariff on all Mexican goods.

While she emphasized a preference for dialogue, she directed her economy minister to implement countermeasures without specifying targets.

Sources indicate potential tariffs of 5%-20% on U.S. pork, cheese, fresh produce, and metals, but not autos.

Sheinbaum also rejected U.S. allegations of cartel ties and highlighted Mexico's anti-fentanyl efforts.

I hope the Trump supporters realize the tartifs are bad and tweet about it enough that he reverses it. Either that or I hope my understanding of economics is completely wrong.

I think your understanding of their intelligence is wrong, from what I understand about tariffs I don’t think this will play out how he thinks. Or we both don’t understand economics.

Canada 🤝 Mexico solidarity. Honestly, we should just create a new NAFTA or, sorry, CUSMA, without the USA; and tighten our trade with the EU while we're at it.
