I've checked the boxes for the extension. On the browser toolbar I've chosen "Allow for all websites". I've also restarted the browser. It still doesn't work and just gives that message about permissions (pictured).

Try uBlock Origin instead?

Firefox on macOS has functioning add-ons/extensions.

Firefox is my preferred browser. But Safari supports standalone web apps so I use it for some things.

uBlock Origin only supports Safari versions prior to 12 or 13. But apparently AdGuard is recommended as of 2023 so thanks for helping me think outside of the box. Reference: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34377582

Update: Same problem. I wonder if Apple might have a deal with Google to stop these plugins working on their websites.

Which website? AdGuard works well for me.

YouTube. I’m having the same problem with AdGuard

Weird. These are the extensions I have and it works fine usually. (Same on the Mac)

Try Vinegar additionally maybe?

Thanks. I misread your last message. I can't find Extract in the free or paid extensions. Did you get it from a website?

Oh, now I understand. Thank you again!

I hope it works!

That's interesting. I'm on desktop, though. They're not always comparable.

No they aren't, but as I said it works on the Mac as well (though there I have Extract enabled instead of Vinegar, just checked). In fact on the Mac works a lot more reliable for me.
