One of the reason I got a pixel is that you can get OEM repair parts (including adhesive!) staright from ifixit, no IEMI needed (such technology is simply out of reach for the like of apple):

You can get all the genuine part even for pixel 3, which is 5 years old and no longer supported (newer pixel phone is supported for at least 5 years, older phone are not supported because qualcomm no longer supports the SOC IIRC).

I have a ~4 year old Pixel 3a, it's got a case but no screen protector. I drop it all the time, but it's pretty much totally fine still, at least physically. Definitely running a bit sluggish these days, but otherwise perfect. Maybe I'm just lucky? Or maybe they've gotten worse since?
What os are your running on your pixel?

If your interested in a more private OS for your phone - I did some searching and unfortunately GrapheneOS won't support the 3a anymore, and the DivestOS is broken for the 3a.

Thanks! I was planning on trying LineageOS once the stock OS got too outdated to keep using, but only because it was the one I knew about. Any pros or cons between Calyx and Lineage?
I would personally Install Calyx - you can relock the bootloader, the install is meant to be easy and the community is supposedly very friendly - you should be able to troubleshoot without issue.
(I haven't personally used it so YMMV)
Several pixels and they all broke? Are they a roofer or something? Maybe they'd get on with a Nokia 3310. :)
I have a pixel 6a. I am a prolific clumsy fucker, and have dropped my phone countless times. I have screen protector and a cheapo case, and it's still doing well after 9 months.
I would question the quality of the design of the case or the context in which they're breaking.

I love pixel phones. I don't use cases because I get the previous gen, like I just got the 6a, which after trade in was only $200.
Each one has lasted about a year and a half before I end up breaking the screen or the camera or something. Not sure what to compare this to, but since I don't use a case, I don't expect much else.

My original pixel needs a new battery but that's it. My pixel 5 has cracked glass on the camera but that was totally my fault.
Nope. My 4a is nearly three years old and the only damage is some slight warping.
Of course, I always use a quality screen protector and the heaviest OtterBox case I can find, so my phone is well protected.

Ive had mutltiple pixels starting with I think the 4a? I've personally only broken 1 screen but it was actually super simple to replace though expensive as shit imo. My daughter is 7 and I generally give her my old phone to use as hers until she manages to break it and she has shattered the screen on them all except her latest Pixel 5 that I actually bought her for christmas. Generally the way she breaks them is by actively trying. She has been nonverbal until the last year or so and struggled a lot with that. She actually threw one of them across the back yard a few times before it managed to finally shatter the screen. She didn't have her "own" phone for like a year+ after that.
