This should be a warning to all countries looking to enter alliances with Russia - they're not actually a reliable partner.

But I guess some rulers who recently did so were more interested in lining their own pockets and having some Wagner thugs around in case your people rebel against you.

And I understand that African nations don't want alliances with former colonial powers. And I wish for them that they reach a situation where this kind of military support is no longer needed.

But until then, I'd think twice before relying on Russia - Armenia also found out how much their CSTO payments actually got them when Azerbaijan attacked them and got basically nothing. Yet people act surprised when countries choose NATO instead (not that this is the only factor, but you get the point).

So is US also, an unreliable partner, in Afghanistan, Vietnam.

I mean, starting in January, the US is an unreliable partner to everyone...

It wasn't exactly reliable so far, they just cease to be a partner at all at this point.

The States previously had European partners though, so your argument is a strawman at best

It was US war which had European partners because of the NATO treaty. US left after betraying people who helped US in US's fight into the hands of the very people US was fighting.

Did al-Assad flee with the Russians, or is that just a rumor?

He just met with Iranian FM in Syria. If he did leave to Russia, he came back after.
