Yeah this is a dumb move. I had an app for my Tesla. It didn’t do much but I added to the nerd value. I think Tesla is determined to kill the brand off

It’s just big enough that Elon believes he no longer needs the nerds and liberals that made it big.

Every MAGAt I know still considers EVs "woke liberal trash" so I'm not sure who he's expecting to buy his shit anymore... The demographic willing to look the other way has shrunk rather significantly.

Rich people really do just kind of stagnate at the maturity and understanding level they had when they first realized they're rich... It's why some act like it's still 1985, and some act like they're in middle school.

I know some Maga chucklefucks that own Teslas. They are convinced Musk has doubled the number of buyers.

I'm in the market for my first car after 15yrs without one. It'll be an EV, but it for damn sure won't be a shitass Tesla.

I don’t know what he’s thinking but I wish he’d step away from the company. All politics aside, he’s just being obnoxious and killing the brand. I love tesla. They pushed electric cars into the mainstream and for that I’m eternally grateful to musk. Now he needs to shut the fuck up and put an adult in charge

I can't quite remember where. It seems like the kind of thing a real asshole would do, though

If you're not using his app, he's not getting your data :(

Let's say Tesla wanted to create stability for developers by guaranteeing they would never do something like this — what legal instrument could they use to guarantee this? Some sort of single-party contract?
