Frankly, it shouldn't matter what his interests are. He's not a free agent. I love Dame but the team should try to do what's best for them and try to get as big a haul as they can for him.

The other side of the coin is that veterans have enough sway that they can usually spike deals or become a thorn in the side of any organization receiving him unwillingly.

Unfortunately, that's also very true.

Crazy that owners didn’t try to fix this in the CBA, especially after the Ben Simmons saga

It might just be me but I'd rather the players have too much power than the owners.

Same reason I'd rather use Lemmy over Reddit, Mastodon over Twitter, etc.

Doesn't hurt that I'm a Heat fan though 😅

Yeah I do agree the blazers should do what's best for them but if Dame has said he will be unhappy anywhere but Miami, they probably aren't gonna get great offers for an angry Dame.

100%. There's no way to make a good-faith deal with Miami when they know they're not having any challengers.

Does Dame just really want to play with Jimmy? I kind of understand not wanting to play for the Sixers with Harden wanting out their future is not super certain but the Celtics have a good roster. Not that they would want to trade for him, just seems a bit surprising to me that it's basically the heat or nothing for him.

He'd fit in perfectly with the Celtics and I honestly see them having a higher ceiling than the Heat going forward.

I can't tell if I'm crazy or not but I like Jaylen Brown for Dame for both teams. I think that trade would make the Celtics the best in the east and the blazers get a younger talent who they could try and put some players around.

I’ve been curious as to what the draw is, honestly. Maybe Spoelstra is just a steadying presence, no likelihood of leadership churn in the near future.

Dude is absolutely tanking over a decade of goodwill and being among the most likable stars in the league. Dame you could have signed or sign and traded to Miami at any point. Don’t sign this contract if you’re not gonna fulfill it.

Didn't list the kings we're in business

Dame wants to retire to Miami that's all. But ur too young to retire yet.
