Eh, I don't hold it against the creator, because he started out as a "progressive liberal" and over the years they got more and more Marxist.
So he went from liberal to Trotskyist. Not the best trajectory.
He did become a Trot for a while, but my understanding is he went with Lenin afterwards (shortly after he made this comic). If you compare his earlier stuff to his current stuff, this is quite apparent (also, if I recall it correctly, he says as much in one of the descriptions for his later comics).
