That sucks. He played a mean guitar. Fuck him though.

Wow, that is so incredibly disappointing. Fuck you, Carlos.

Santana also shouted out his “brother” Dave Chappelle. The comedian previously said he identifies as “Team TERF” — aka a trans-exclusionary radical feminist — in his 2021 Netflix special.

Oh, of course he hangs out with other hateful jerks! Fuck. This is all so gross.

Man, I can't keep these things straight. I watched that, admittedly controversial, Dave show - and I thought he was making fun of the "terfs", specifically JKR.

That show was him already doubling down, which he's continued to do

Yea well he's old so hopefully he dies soon and stops spreading hate like a piece of shit.

I love Carlos’s guitar but he has been a reactionary wacko for awhile now. Haven’t supported since the 90’s i don’t know why anyone would be surprised.

Why seems there to be an age gap, like 50 or something, when transphobia seemingly increases. I know there are younger ones too, but still. Was it the lead paint and pipes used in the 70s? It's bizarre why they hate such a simple thing.

My guess is leaded gasoline. Put so much of that into the air that it addled their minds.

Doesn't seem to be stopping young Americans from voting for Republicans.

I mean - it’s a valid point

Culture of the times and getting set in their way. The younger ones learning from their elders. I had a cousin that came out a lesbian in the early 00’s and it rippled through family. When he decided to transition to male in the late 00’s it caused a major ripple in the family. The gender fluid concept is something that while it’s been around scientifically for awhile… is a culture shock to some.

Worlds changed a lot since the 70s in some ways, less so in others

Last few generations each started accepting different types of people that the previous generation didn't, some stopped evolving pass that point.

It went something like

POC > LGB > T > genders

I know people of my generation mostly don't have an issue with trans but some can't understand the concept of other types of genders. When talking to my aunt that's 10 years older than me she has a hard time understand trans but she would never question gay rights, when talking to my young cousins they learn about gender acceptance in school now...

At the same time, I talk to my mother who's a last year boomer and she's like "Whatever float your boat, as long as you're happy with who you are then I'm happy for you!"

There was a trans positive Love Boat episode and Christine Jorgensen back in the 70s. So the acceptance was there, but the religious right had to fuck it all up.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I wonder how mainstream the acceptance was at that point compared to the 2000s though...

Not for a second do I think that these aging, irrelevant entertainers actually believe this and feel strongly enough about it that they have to speak up. They just know that they can bully trans people without any actual risk to themselves and that Team TBI will trip over themselves to pay attention to and buy stuff from anyone who validates their hate. Actual fucking monsters, the lot of them.

I've run into so much content that seems supportive at first and then later I realize that it is transphobic.

For example here he says that you know what you are and should accept it. I mean it could be supportive if you don't know the context.

That’s basically all of Great Britain.

The standard TERF trick is to say things that seem supportive of women, until you realize they are purposefully excluding trans women.

And the UK its basically TERF Island at this point.

Fuck you Carlos.

I hope you come home to a dark house with cold pots.
