I hear ya. It's one of the aspects where Reddit is already dead since a long, loooong time ago: there's no sense of community there, no sense of belonging, no sense of "home".
And it's always a fucking struggle to say something there without at least someone ruining your day, by outright distorting what you said so they can point trotters* at you. It's the stupid interacting with the stupid and assuming that we're stupid, because we're probably stupid after interacting with the stupid for such a long time.
And they don't care about information, that depends on a context to be useful. They only care about trivia, that might as well be noise. Because of that they end shunning away or silencing the users who are actually willing to contribute, like you, OP.
