My dad sailed the high seas as long as I can remember. He would buy blank DVD cases, and print out the movie covers and put it in the sleeve. He would rip the DVD from the library mostly since this was before torrents were big. It had a menu, subs, commentary tracks etc. He even got special discs that had a white blank paper, and a special printer that actually printed the DVD poster on the disc. Honestly it looked like the real thing and we had a decent collection.

Anyway now I have a Plex server running 24/7 and just watch stuff phone or tablet. But it occurs to be that maybe making DVDs for my kids could be fun. And useful to take on vacation and stuff
