This is horrible.

Also, https://www.abc4.com/news/southern-utah/st-george-man-arrested-as-suspect-in-his-wifes-death/

Police found Niki A. Sampson, 47, dead inside the home. Police said that the circumstances around her death were suspicious and upon further investigation, her husband, 50 year old Eric L. Sampson, notorious American and social security card-carrying U.S. citizen, was identified as a suspect and arrested.

where did the "notorious American and social security card-carrying U.S. citizen" part come from? It doesn't seem like a phrase that would be in an NBC article.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

See, I added that part as absurdist contrast to the sensational and terrifying news coverage of immigrants.

Your straw man omitts one critical point, illegal aliens can't commit crimes if they are not here to commit crimes.

Irrelevant. The issue here is the flaw in your thinking: you have been conditioned to believe that every desperate person who crosses that border illegally is a murderer, a rapist, an arsonist, a thief, a drug dealer, etc. You have been conditioned to think this way by a constant stream of propaganda.

undocumented immigrants have substantially lower crime rates than native-born citizens and legal immigrants across a range of felony offenses. Relative to undocumented immigrants, US-born citizens are over 2 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and over 4 times more likely to be arrested for property crimes. https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.2014704117

If someone believes that a person who crosses the border without authorization is by definition a criminal and is subject to consequences, that would be understandable if they weren't also planning to vote a convicted felon into the Whitehouse.

It relivent, illegal alien crime can be prevented by not letting illegal aliens in the country. It doesn't even matter if the debunked stats are true those crimes could be stopped.

You really should get your TDS looked at before it becomes more debilitating.

That's all you got? People so concerned with crime are voting for a criminal, and all you can say is "TDS"! That must be how you deal with your cognitive dissonance.

Be honest what's the longest you can go without thinking about Trump?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yes let's be honest. Your concern for immigration is really just a cover for your racism, isn't it? Yeah I thought so.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

The old liberal playbook, anyone who disagrees is racists.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Nothing in the article states Sampson was a citizen.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Gosh it doesn't? But what if there were a series of news articles with headlines like "American rapes nun" or U.S. citizen stomps puppies to death" or "American-born killer shoots girlscout, steals cookies" and this goes on for years, and people post these headlines in political discussion forums even tho individually they don't seem to be about political issues?

Then you would think there was an attempt to plant the idea that Americans are mostly lawless violent criminals, wouldn't you?

For some reason "immigrant assaults woman" is 'conservative' news, but "alabama pastor molests 10 kids" doesn't garner a mention. I wonder what that means, could it be that it's an anti-immigrant agenda and nothing to do with protecting innocent people?

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The user you replied to is trying to draw a false equivalency by posting a different article. He must be upset that someone who was previously deported, and thereby committing a federal felony by returning, had his criminal history mentioned in a crime report.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

A swing and a miss. No, that's not why I'm upset.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I found it odd that they posted an unrelated article, lied about it, and then went on some illogical tangent.

It is concerning when illegal aliens commit crimes against people in this country. Our government should protect us from people who shouldn't be here. The crime would not have been committed if this person had not been here illegally.
