I guess this is more of a rant than anything else, but I didn't find any other posts about it on here so I figured I might bring it up. I bought a TI Nspire series calculator when I was in middle school and have been using it for well over 5 years. This calculator also comes with a perpetual license to the computer software, which allows you to transfer files, make files in the calculator's format (edit; I now learn that there are other softwares that do this, but that's not the point of this post), and has an emulator for the calculator. I also intentionally keep the calculator and computer software outdated in order to run Ndless jailbreak.

I bought a new laptop and wanted to transfer my license, only to find out that TI has now switched to a subscription account based system and that they are no longer going to honor my perpetual license, and instead just give me a credit for a four year license.

TI is also known for generally treating their customers well, but this is absurd. I shouldn't have to pirate software that I own!
