Then there's what some guy wrote and the quote became famous, I paraphrase - "The Holy Roman Empire is none of the above", or maybe it was "The Holy Roman Empire is neither Holy, Roman, nor an Empire".

and Voltaire was wrong. It was "Holy" as in the pope had no authority over it, as it is "Holy" already. "Roman" as it larps to be Roman from time to time and "Empire", because it was an actual Empire.
