Just curious if this is the app. Using android and mullvad app. When the VPN is on I can't post. It just gives an error something like "problem posting, try again". Disabling VPN I can post fine.

Wondering if anyone else had this problem, or it's by design, or a general lemmy thing and not the app?

If youโ€™re posting on .world, I believe itโ€™s the server. Lots of sites ban blocks of IPs associated with VPNs due to bad actors using them. You can sometimes avoid this by changing VPN servers.

Yeah that makes sense. I'll experiment with other servers.

Completely anecdotal, but I generally find more success with servers outside of North America. Definitely helps with reddit and imgur.

Yeah Iโ€™ve been dealing with this issue since I came over from the other place last year. Itโ€™s incredibly annoying, and a number of times has made me rage-delete comments Iโ€™m trying to post. It happens to me every day, but I can usually find a server that works for a while by randomly switching a few times.

I use ProtonVPN.

Same problem with Proton VPN, if I switch countries I can post again without issues.

Will have to try this. Been getting the same issues but didn't think to check VPN.

Edit: Looks like that did it. Thanks for the tip!
