I think it's just frustration caused by personal failures to undo the propaganda. When you explain and justify how something is false and then deeply explain how something else is correct and they actively choose the false thing then people get frustrated and give up. Once they've given up on that then the only solutions left are burying them all.

About where I'm at. I couldn't give the first fuck about a white Amerikan anymore; I'm organizing for my folk and my folk alone until we've allied with other subjects-of-empire with similar grievance. And if that don't work, I'm getting the fuck out on my ones.

I hate pretty much everyone. People are not inherently good no matter where they come from.

I hate the conservative black Democrats who all hate gay people and vote in droves for Joe Biden types in Dem primaries.

I hate the Hispanic "macho" swine and their "I immigrated the right way" BS.

I hate the Chinese ex-pats that go with Falun Gong nonsense because they were too greedy to stay in the greatest country on earth.

It sucks. I hate this place. I am a hermit by choice and if it wasn't for specific hobbies and orgs I just wouldn't be around people. Nature is so much better for my mental health.

100% it's frustration with people for not being able/willing to follow the path we did. i think it's a natural response to a stubborn rejection of the seemingly obvious

to some extent i think it's probably impossible to live in a world that so thoroughly rejects what you see as truth and not be somewhat embittered with others as a result

FALLING for tasty treat brain melt propaganda!"

I disagree with this post completely. Please read this article if you haven't. Westerners are not gullible little know-nothings that are helplessly caught up in the propaganda. They actively seek it out in order to justify their exploitative way of life.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah that's kinda my point actually

[–] [email protected] 25 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It is? It reads like you're making fun of people who call out westerners for enthusiastically chugging the kool aid

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I'm more making fun of people who mock them for chugging the kool aid but the change their tone once there's a more serious discussion of westoids kool aid chugging habit.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 4 months ago (4 children)

You can do both, i can make fun of the psychos who fell into bullshit and still acknowledge that is a shame that they fell into something that they were being programmed to do

If propaganda doesnt do anything and people are just the way they are. Why bother doing propaganda? Why fly american warjets over thr superbowl even though it costs an insane amount of money

The divide is Domestic vs Foreign

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago

Yeah i dunno you havent really met how low the floor is on how stupid Americans can be

[–] [email protected] 46 points 4 months ago (1 children)

i-think-that believing things that are true is better than believing things that are not true

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Do you know to origin of that pic?

I see it all the time and don't know what its about and don't know what words to use to search for it

[–] [email protected] 25 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

it's a Norman Rockwell painting with a pretty funny backstory

Freedom of Speech depicts a scene of a 1942 Arlington town meeting in which Jim Edgerton, the lone dissenter to the town selectmen's announced plans to build a new school, as the old one had burned down,[9] was accorded the floor as a matter of protocol.[10] Edgerton supported the rebuilding process but was concerned about the tax burden of the proposal, as his family farm had been ravaged by disease.[11]

It's a 1943 Norman Rockwell painting entitled "Freedom of Speech"

Synthesis: I deserve gulag 🙂

[–] [email protected] 21 points 4 months ago

I mean yeah probably

[–] [email protected] 36 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I simply have better taste in propaganda than others.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It's not real propaganda unless it comes from the Ganda region of Italy

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ganda Proper, one might say.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

lea-finger-guns I definitely should have said "it's not proper Ganda". We workshopped it together

[–] [email protected] 23 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Nah, I am immune to propaganda. I'm just built different.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

A lot of people say "build different" when the person in question is actually describing themselves actively making choices.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 4 months ago

it's simple, really.

I am right, you're wrong. I am always right. target-triangle

But Doctor, we are Pagliacci

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 months ago

I remember cackling when I first heard that joke. I'm not sure if that was the reaction the author wanted, though.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 4 months ago

I remember a joke that was like "leftists already have the equivalent to macho self help, it's called marxism, it's the philosophy of an old white guy and makes you think you understand everything and get overconfident about complex topics"

None of this words are in the bible

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

Uh, maybe in the original Hebrew. But I see several words here that are in all the English translations. "You" for example.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago

Thinking there is a single true truth at the heart of any dialectic makes you, op, a lib

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 months ago

The goulash!

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

First one is me i feel like ive said that exactly

The second one has truth in it but the line of reasoning has the western poison pill in it

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

We are all products of our material circumstances. If you don't believe that then just tell everyone to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and stop worrying about collectivism.

Depends on what position you end up on Once you are at the point were you justify the death of people from bad country then i really have a hard time caring about their sob stories.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago (1 children)

What is an acceptable response?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

I'm not totally sure, I'll make a couple points I personally believe.

1: nobody is immune to propaganda == everyone is equally scrupulous when confronted with propaganda.

2: a lot of people "fall" for propaganda less because it oh-so convincing and clever but because they have incentives to believe it.

3: in the digital age you do have less excuses for being really poorly informed.

4: a lot of people in the west are just straight up unreachable unless/until shit in their lives substantially changes.

5: we (actually) leftists are indeed smarter than most people, the issue is less believing that and more letting it get to our heads and making us insufferably smug.

Edit: final thought

6: I don't think being a leftist means you have to have this poetic "faith in the beauty of humanity" like some people here say you do. Plenty of past leftist (Lenin, Marx) where exactly overflowing with love for their fellow man and weren't afraid to talk shit when they felt people, either individuals or at large, were being stupid, and they were much more successful than any of us. I support communism because I think it's the right path for human civilization based on our history, not because I think ever living soul is a beacon of angelic light. You can feel cynical about your fellow man and society at large and still think the correct path for both is communism. If anything doing so will make you more adept at understanding your fellow man/society at large.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago (2 children)

You cant believe that leftists are smarter than everyone and also believe that everyone who is propagandized is smart enough to not be. Why do you think leftists are smarter than everyone?
