Monday, July 1, 2024: Les lundis de l'entropie

It's too late for a straight - thus the shavette. And I'm getting used to Entropy Man!

Have a good night!

  • Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
  • Blade: Bolzano Superinox (German) (19)
  • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Reserve Fern - Soap
  • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Reserve Fern - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Mood Indigo - Balm

Had to wake up early this morning, so this shave was actually done last night.

Reserve Fern gives my son a bit of frag burn. Oh well.

Lol, when your toddler needs to smell like a grandpa, sacrifices need to be made!

Lol. Hmmm. It's early, but not that early!

Post-LG Mammoth Monday Trifecta with Guest Wolfie

  • Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Daliesque 26mm Manchurian T1 Badger Knot
  • Razor: Wolfman Razors Satin WR1 dual comb 0.74 mm gap head on hollow WRH1 handle
  • Blade: Gillette Platinum [7]
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Everett - Soap
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Everett - Splash
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth - Everett - Extrait de Parfum

I've been looking forward to this shave since I received this set in early June. Everett is a wonderful scent. It starts with sweet orange and then dries down to a scent that reminds me a little of Rumble.

Rating: 4/5

Whoo!

  • Brush: Zenith 506B MB (27 mm Γ— 51 mm Manchurian badger)
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels 14 (8/8", extra hollow ground, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice
  • Post Shave: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice
  • Fragrance: Spearhead Shaving Company – Seaforth! Roman Spice

YAYYY! @[email protected] is back on patrol! Thanks @[email protected] for fixing it!

LG are done, I've cleared my docket first thing in the morning and shaved with Roman Spice as the second thing. This set has arrived during Lather Games, and I've been itching to use it. I love the fresh apple opening and I'm still processing scent. I think it's going to get a lot of use this summer.

I have Roman Spice. What a great idea to start July with it! I was going to pass on this but @whosgotthepudding insisted I buy it. That was great advice. Shawn is batting 1000 on the Seaforth fragrances.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, Shawn and Dennis just crush it when it comes modernizing those classic scents.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

They really do! And without trying (he’s not a SR shaver), Dennis’ Highland base is just great for straights.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

Yeah, it's crazy, literally all they're scents are winners IMO

Well, almost. The auto post software was self hosted in Docker before, but that's still broken. There's an open ticket on GitHub, and it's not just ours that isn't working.

It's also hosted by the author at schedule.lemmings.world. Same version, but I don't think he uses Docker, and his is working.

So the posts are coming from there for now.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Oh well, as long as it works

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

I really like the opening but I'm especially fond of the dry down. It's really almost two different scents at that point, to my nose.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

I put zero effort into choosing today's setup. I simply consulted @djundjila's post this morning to determine what to use. Excellent choice DJ!

That's a really nice shave! I almost went with RS and a 14 also, but I've been sitting on some Spanish soap all LG. My hand was forced.

7/1/24

I had to take a small break to focus on LG. I can only handle so much typing. Even if it's just to copy and paste.

First time trying out this Malva-Rosa. The scent is really nice. Pretty much just rose and geranium. I had a hard time sniffing out any of the Dragon's Blood. Paired up super well with Two Kings.

Performance was really good. Didn't take much effort to build and wasn't crazy thirsty or anything. Slicker than snot. Both primary and residual were great.

This Farvour just showed up from u/EldrormR. The Mags SHD are fantastic knots.

This Iberia is amazing. I will go so far as to say it is the best feeling razor I have shaved with.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

I haven’t heard of Itakha but love trying soaps that are less common on the sub.

You were incredibly lucky with that Iberia. I’ve only seen one. It was a rusted mess, and had proportions ruined by poor honing.
