I've never been there, and I'm having trouble with the perspective. Is that island in the middle something with tall trees on it, or is it something that would be underwater if the water was up to the measuring stick in the foreground?
That's a very beautiful photo. Any idea how cold the water is? Looks like it would be freezing.
