The Edmonton subreddit is a huge and active one. I'm surprised there isn't a community here yet for it, especially after seeing several other city communities such as Calgary and Lethbridge.

I messaged the mods on the Edmonton subreddit, so hopefully they'll assist in getting it set up.

I heard back from the Reddit mods this morning and they are not interested in migrating nor supporting the Edmonton community on Lemmy. I suppose it's up to us now!

If anyone is interested in jumping on board to give me a hand moderating, please reach out!

Also, the /r/edmonton mods have been pretty weird at times and I've grown to not trust the moderation. They also never joined the blackout, so I have no respect for them anymore tbh.

Well then I suppose this is an opportunity for us to start fresh. I haven't even made up any sort of rules for the community yet, I'd like to get some input on those first
