Cool now I need to remove the presto card from my wallet rather than just tapping my wallet.

Been like that for a while. I just lined the inside my wallet with foil. The reader can scan my pesto card on the outside but no bt my debit/credit inside the wallet.

No more digging for change necessary (for people without Presto cards or tokens)! Hooray!

Hopefully they upgraded the readers to be faster at the fare gates

I wish they kept the old reliable gates and added one or more of the new accessible ones. The new ones must cost a fortune to maintain given how often they break

I kind of miss the "clink clink clink" of the gates, but at least now you can use the gates in either direction.

Also there are still a couple places they have the "Exit Only" type gate, like at the Castle Frank Bus Station for example.

I'd rather have one way over playing chicken during rush hour.

Remember when the TTC first rejected Presto, the alternative option we were to adopt before Provincial interference had the feature to tap by card?

Yeah... It's a dismal failure of Presto that it's taking this long.

Presto itself isn't necessarily bad on it's own. It was the TTC who sabotaged it by insisting that it be " continuous trip in one direction without backtracking" instead of a much easier 2 hour window.

You mean 'meet the requirements of the existing fare structure?' They had to change the fare structure because Presto had problems there too, being unable to determine if they are on a transfer or a second journey (and after implementation, also didn't process transfers right anyhow).

Mind you, the new fare structure is better for the rider (you can theoretically get a return trip for free for short jaunts). So, another Presto failure is celebrated...
