This one still eats at me. They must have SOME idea behind why he did it.
i'm not big into that kind of conspiracy theories, but i'll bet a months salary that the feds have been involved and it got horribly wrong.
Somerton Man. It's likely not some big earth-shattering mystery but the background and how it played out is quite intruiging.
I believe that they recently discovered who the guy probably was.

What, no, as the article states, they're still figuring out what circumstances drove him to the beach that day.
"solved" in a sense of "who was he?". i've followed this case for about 15 years and there were the wildest speculations about who he was and what he might have done for a living. at this point it's - please don't read this a cynical - a case of "local man committed suicide halb a century ago" and i doubt that there will be unearthed much about why he did it since not even his own relatives missed him.
