Were people given a choice in the first place? It has been pretty much thrust upon people across the world by capitalist overlords and political leaders.

You would think this would be your first indication. You would think the victim would mention this as an identifying thing, "she was pregnant." You would think the detective would try to pull a recent photograph, or check cell phone records, or anything else to come to a more affirmative conclusion.

You would think, which seems the detective didn't do in this case.
