I made a post in the android community already, but I am wondering if iPhone support android reactions, the issue is even with RCS fully enabled via the Google Messages app, when I react to an iOS message, it sends 👍 to "test message" instead of putting the actual reaction

Just use Signal. Future rich and E2EE. You can use it on all your devices whether it be Linux or an ipad.

That’s not exactly a possibility for many people whose network doesn’t also use Signal, right?

I use signal but getting family to use it is nearly impossible, iMessage is a cult lol

iPhone’s don’t use RCS, so AFAIK, no they can’t. When an Android messages an iPhone, the iPhone falls back to sms which does not support reactions.

Iirc it depends on what sms app is being used on the android side. I think it just sends "x person reacted to this reply with y emoji message"

So I did look into IG, google messages and I think one other app does look at the message and phase it, iPhones don't do this so we can get iMessage reaction but iOS can't get ours
